A leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced People Advisor to support its site-based operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HR professional to provide first-line people support, partnering with managers and employees across a fast-paced operational environment. You'll play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, absence management, onboarding, wellbeing and colleague engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for HR and people-related queries.
- Provide advice and guidance on absence, conduct, capability, grievance and probation matters.
- Support employee relations processes, investigations and formal meetings.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and probation activities.
- Monitor absence management and occupational health referrals.
- Maintain accurate HR records, reports and documentation.
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
- Build effective relationships with managers, employees and trade union representatives.
- Ensure HR processes are compliant with employment legislation and internal policies.
About You
- Experience in a People Advisor, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Confident supporting managers with people-related matters.
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or another operational environment would be advantageous.
- CIPD qualification or working towards accreditation is desirable.
