An opportunity exists for Shift Operators to join Amcor based in Dumfries. The site specialises in both the recycling of wastepolythene and the manufacturing ofrecycled plastic lumber.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the successful candidate will operate machinery and work with the rest of the shift for the effective running of a recycling andmanufacturingfunction. This position involves working 12-hour shifts consisting of day shift and night shift rotation, working 36.75 hours on average per week.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
To comply with the company H&S Policy, ensuring that PPE is worn at all times.
Working to relevant departmental SWPs at all times in line with training received.
Demonstrate a responsible attitude and behaviour to health and safety and the operation of expensive and dangerous machinery.
Maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment.
Run the relevant lines within your department to specific quality standards and specifications
To carry out duties effectively as required by the production plans, and accurately record quality checks and information.
Maintain a good working relationship with work colleagues to work safely, maximise levels of production and minimise production downtime and scrap.
Start-up and shut down department machinery as/when instructed.
Prepare for the next shift in order to conduct smooth shift changeovers.
Experience and Skills Required:
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
Experience of H&S responsibilities within a manufacturing environment

The ability to form good working relationships at all levels
Good timekeeping, tidy, health & safety conscious and great communication skills are essential.
The ability to work unsupervised and be able to use own initiative
Previous experience with working shift patterns would be advantageous.
Full training will be provided.
