The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting plant hire equipment to and from customer sites. Deliveries can be nationwide, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential. You will need to be confident in securing loads safely, including strapping down equipment and carrying out the necessary vehicle and load checks before each journey. The role requires a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and excellent customer service when attending sites and interacting with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the safe and timely delivery and collection of plant hire equipment to and from customer sites.
  • Carry out nationwide deliveries, ensuring all routes and schedules are adhered to.
  • Safely strap and secure loads in line with transport and health & safety regulations.
  • Conduct vehicle and load checks before commencing each journey.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when representing the company at customer premises.
  • Adhere to all road transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company procedures.
  • Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and report any defects promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with the transport team and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
  • Always provide excellent customer service while representing Pure Staff and our client professionally.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need

  • A valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
  • Newly qualified Class 2 driver will be considered, provided they have some driving experience.
  • A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, IN or TT endorsements).
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safe driving.

Pay Rates

£16.00 per hour plus £1.93 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £17.93 per hour including holiday pay).

Holiday Pay

We believe professional HGV Drivers deserve proper paid annual leave. Rather than rolling your holiday pay into every hourly rate, your holiday entitlement builds up as you work and is ready to be paid when you book time off. That means when you take a well-earned break, your holiday pay is there waiting for you. Your holiday pay is accrued separately and paid when you take annual leave, ensuring you're rewarded while encouraging regular time off, which we believe is essential for safety, wellbeing, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Why drive for Pure Staff?

  • We employ every driver directly - 100% in-house PAYE with Pure Staff. No umbrella companies. No payroll companies. No third-party providers. Your employment is directly with us.
  • Weekly Friday pay processed by our own experienced in-house payroll team.
  • Paid correctly and on time (99.9% of the time) with any issues promptly investigated and corrected.

  • Friendly, experienced transport consultants who understand HGV driving.
  • Honest pay rates with no misleading 'assignment rates' or inflated umbrella figures.
