About the Role As a Distribution Centre Shift Supervisor, you will lead and support a team to ensure all warehouse activities run efficiently each day.

You'll oversee picking, packing, replenishment, stock checks and safety routines, while helping your team stay motivated, productive and focused on delivering great service.

About the Accountabilities Ensure all daily customer orders are accurately picked and despatched on time.

Maintain and exceed required pick accuracy levels and packing standards.

Complete daily booking-in of all lines received from UK suppliers and customer returns within 24 hours.

Oversee and ensure all bulk storage and pick-face replenishments are completed each day.

Ensure all daily stock put-away is cleared and stock control tasks are carried out as scheduled.

Monitor packaging stock levels and escalate replenishment needs where required.

Maintain high housekeeping standards across all areas, including loading bays and external spaces.

Ensure all team members wear the correct uniform and PPE at all required times.

Provide operational cover for other Distribution Centre Shift Supervisors/Managers during holidays, absence, and meetings.

Complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly Health & Safety checks.

Plan and coordinate holiday cover within your team to maintain operational continuity.

Hold regular documented discussions with team members, including 1:1s, appraisals, and personal development plan (PDP) reviews.

About You - Essential Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage teams, including conducting 1:1s, appraisals and supporting development.

Strong communication skills to direct daily operations and work effectively with colleagues across the business.

Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, with understanding of key processes such as picking, packing, replenishment and stock control.

Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting and basic analysis.

Ability to organise, prioritise and manage daily workloads to meet operational deadlines.

Sound understanding of Health & Safety expectations, with the ability to complete scheduled checks and promote safe working behaviours.

Analytical thinking with a logical approach to identifying issues and implementing practical solutions under pressure.

Flexible approach to working hours (shifts, weekends, overtime) in line with operational needs.

Positive, proactive 'can-do' attitude with the resilience to manage changing priorities.

Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to new processes.

About You - Desirable Previous supervisory experience in a high-volume distribution centre or logistics environment.

Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or stock-control software.

Experience contributing to process improvements or using CI/lean tools Understanding of packaging stock management, supplier returns or replenishment processes.

Experience planning holiday cover or allocating resources within a shift team.

Experience deputising for other Supervisors/Managers or covering multiple operational areas.
