We are recruiting for a permanent 4 on 4 off shunter to work for our client in Derby.
The shift pattern is as follows:
4 on 4 off (2days, 2 nights, 4 off) 06:00 to 18:00 & 18:00 to 06:00 shifts
You will be responsible for the timely movement of freezer trailers onto and off from bays for the company to load frozen produce prior to dispatch.
Your role will require the following:
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
Ensure trailers are positioned accurately and efficiently to support warehouse operations.
Follow all site safety procedures and transport legislation.
Use the site's yard management system to manage trailer movements and assignments.
Work closely with transport, warehouse and operations teams to maintain an efficient flow of vehicles.
Support the ongoing development and implementation of new yard processes and technology.
What you'll need:
A valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous Class 1 driving experience (shunting experience is desirable but not essential).
Good awareness of health and safety within a transport environment.
A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
Confidence using technology and mobile devices, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
An interest in understanding how technology supports transport operations, particularly as we roll out a new yard management system. (No advanced IT knowledge is requiredjust a willingness to learn.)
