Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a professional Class 1 Yard Shunter HGV LGV Driver to join our logistics team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for manoeuvring heavy goods vehicles within the yard, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of lorries and trailers.

This role is vital in maintaining smooth operations at our distribution centre, requiring a high level of skill, attention to safety, and a proactive attitude.

The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the timely delivery of goods across various locations.

You will be working Monday to Friday - 0700 to 1700 each day, other days available if required Responsibilities Manoeuvre Class 1 HGVs and trailers within the yard, ensuring precise positioning for loading and unloading.

Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.

Assist with the organisation and stacking of trailers and containers to optimise yard space utilisation.

Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and logistics coordinators regarding vehicle movements and scheduling.

Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Ensure adherence to company policies regarding driving hours, load security, and vehicle maintenance.

Skills Valid Cat C+E (Class 1) HGV licence with relevant experience in yard shunting operations.

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles involving large vehicles.

Familiarity with flatbed operations and securement of various types of cargo.

Strong driving skills with a focus on manoeuvring large vehicles in confined spaces.

Excellent organisational skills to coordinate vehicle movements efficiently within the yard environment.

Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and logistics personnel.

Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
