With continued investment and ambitious growth plans, they're looking to add an experienced Business Development Manager to their sales team.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for generating new commercial waste contracts, developing a strong pipeline of opportunities, and growing revenue through a consultative sales approach. You'll spend the majority of your time out in the field, meeting decision-makers, identifying opportunities, and presenting tailored waste management solutions that help businesses improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across a range of commercial sectors
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through networking, referrals, self-generated leads, and market research
  • Attend client meetings to understand operational requirements and present bespoke waste management solutions
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and quotations
  • Negotiate and close contracts while maximising profitability
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers to encourage retention and additional revenue opportunities
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process
  • Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, and trade exhibitions
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets

About You

  • Proven success in Business Development, Field Sales, or a similar client-facing sales role
  • Experience within waste management, facilities management, industrial services, recycling, logistics, utilities, or a related sector would be advantageous, but isn't essential
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Commercially aware with the ability to identify opportunities and create value-driven solutions
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and target-driven
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence
