Summary: The CAD Technicians provide a detailed washroom layout drafting service for customer orders using 2D & 3D software applications. Provide manufacturing drawings, with hardware pick lists, for manufacturing, warehouse, and installation purposes. All functions must be performed in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Prepares accurate washroom drawings from architectural plans.
- Creates drawings by utilizing AutoCAD 2D or Inventor 3D software.
- Creates material cut lists based on released project area, room phase or level.
- Print manufacturing drawings for the installation team.
- Designs and draws custom details in coordination with Technical Manager/Supervisor, as required.
- Maintains all network stored project information within the Enterprise structure.
- Create remedial and additional material requests in accordance with department processes.
- Forward any non-drafting queries to the relevant person or department.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of design-drafting standards and practices.
- Produce O&M manuals.
- Participate and submit new and improved work methods in alignment with the Suggested Method Improvement program.
- Follow and promote safe work practices.
- Report all hazards, unsafe acts and conditions immediately to your manager.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and always follow health and safety protocols.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and independently. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Relevant design-based degree preferable but not necessarily or 2-5 years industry experience within a CAD role.
- Basic working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, time management and documentation skills.
- Adaptable, flexible and open to change.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems using sound judgement and analytical skills.
