People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Daventry, Northamptonshire .

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to): - Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
- Operating and manoeuvring Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently within the yard
- Completing daily yard and vehicle checks in line with site rules and health & safety guidelines
- Ensuring all trailers and loads are positioned and secured correctly
- Adhering to traffic laws, site regulations, and company procedures
- Communicating effectively with transport and warehouse teams (radio use is essential)
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
Essential Skills
As an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need: - Minimum of one year's Class 1 driving, shunting, and TUG experience
- Valid UK Category C+E Licence
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsements)
- Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- Good understanding of UK traffic laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills
Desirable Experience - Experience working within a fast-paced yard or logistics environment
Training Provided - Driver assessment required prior to start
- Ongoing industry-related training and support
