Salary: c£65,000 per annum + pension + other benefits.
Hours: 8am-6pp, Monday - Friday
Production Engineering & Project Manager
Provide leadership and oversight to all facets of the Engineering Maintenance team including facility, CAPEX, project, asset care and planned preventative maintenance whilst ensuring health and safety complies with statutory requirements.
The Role
Implement and monitor key performance indicators, objectives and schedules including setting priorities and performance expectations for team.
Provide measures of control through Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reviews and communicating the KPIs throughout the organization.
Develop and deliver a structured maintenance plan in line with production and planning requirements.
Engineering stores and workshop supports maintenance plan in line with agreed budget.
Track improvement areas and drive correct behaviours by ensuring periodic reviews are in place to ensure relevance of KPIs.
Oversee development and coaching of departmental team members.
Develop individual goals for direct reports and ensure alignment to functional KPIs.
Follow up and monitor progress of individual goals and adjust as necessary to changes in business priorities and objectives
Lead regular meetings with operations and other support to monitor key performance trends and escalating/taking appropriate action where risk is identified.
To prepare and issue regular updates and reports to all stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely interventions are taken to avoid risks to service.
Work as part of the senior team to compile a risk matrix for the Dartford site and to create strategies to mitigate these risks for the site
Meet and surpass all external and internal audit standards, working with the quality department to ensure all required quality and food safety standards are met and all appropriate Quality documentation is completed in full
Tight control and monitoring of all costs relating to all engineering activities to include CAPEX, machine parts, rental equipment, and labour to ensure they are within budget as well as best value being achieved without affecting quality
Lead factory procurement activities for utilities and facilities (on behalf of organisation where relevant) to improve cost and process efficiencies, performance and reliability
Implement formal processes and agreements including performance measures, growth incentives, spend controls and sustainability targets; provide regular reporting and achieve regulatory compliance obligations
Supporting the site general manager with other related duties as assigned and ensure consistent role modelling of the UCC values
The Person:
Experienced and proven managerial experience from Manufacturing,
FMCG, Foodservice background Degree qualified, or equivalent in engineering (electrical / mechanical)
Experienced project management ability, setting budgets, managing spend through to completion
Strong analytical and organisational skill set, able to plan, prioritise and execute methodically
Able to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders and at all levels
Skilled influencing skills to gain traction and buy-in, concise written & verbal communication skills
Self-starter with a high degree of commerciality and professionalism
Change Champion with proactive and effective solutions which drive continuous improvement
Good understanding of Health and Safety at work i.e. COSHH, Risk Assessments.
Understand HACCP, GMP and BRC requirements.
