Outside work, she's a huge Disney and Disney Parks fan, loves musical theatre, concerts and music particularly Taylor Swift, McFly and The Script, and enjoys baking, crochet, crafting, shopping and trips to the cinema. She also loves getting outdoors and visiting National Trust properties, parks and zoos.
This is a varied role combining practical and personal support with plenty of opportunity to accompany our client on days out, activities and events.

What you'll be doing
You'll support our client with the things she needs assistance with so that she can maintain her independence and lifestyle. This includes personal care, dressing, bathing and toileting; hoisting and moving and handling; light domestic tasks and admin; and accompanying her on social activities, days out and events. You'll also be trained to assist with her G-tube, medication and respiratory equipment when required.
An important part of the role is helping our client get out and about, so you'll need to be a confident driver with a full UK driving licence. You'll drive her adapted automatic Motability wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Who we're looking for
Previous care experience would be helpful, but it isn't essential; full training will be provided. Personality and attitude are just as important. You could be a great fit if you're:
- Friendly, positive and easy to get along with
- Reliable and responsible
- Patient and considerate
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Happy to learn new skills
- Confident driving an automatic vehicle
- Someone who enjoys getting out and doing things rather than sitting around all day!
If you're interested in Disney, theatre, music, crafts, baking, shopping or days out, you'll already have plenty in common.
About our client
Our client has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 (SMA) and uses a powered wheelchair. She requires physical assistance with aspects of everyday life, including personal care and transfers. Don't worry if you haven't supported somebody with SMA before. You'll receive training in her individual care and support requirements, including moving and handling, hoisting, G-tube support and respiratory equipment.
The purpose of the PA role is simple: to provide the practical support our client needs to enable her to live her life as independently as possible. If you're looking for a rewarding part-time role where you'll get to know one person properly and help them enjoy their independence, we'd love to hear from you.
This role involves providing personal care to a female client and is therefore open to female applicants under the occupational requirement provisions of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. The successful applicant will be subject to an appropriate DBS check.
