People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Dalkeith / Newtongrange. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for ongoing nightshift work with excellent rates of pay and long-term opportunities.
Working as part of a two-person crew, you will complete trunking runs between distribution centres, ensuring goods are transported safely, securely, and efficiently. This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Driver, Category C+E Driver, or Trunking Driver.
Rates of Pay: £19.10 per hour
Shift Pattern: Nightshift, Start times between 5:30pm and 6:30pm
Overtime: Overtime paid after 8 hours

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Completing double-manned trunking runs between distribution centres
- Carrying out vehicle safety checks before and after each shift
- Ensuring all goods are transported safely and securely
- Completing all required paperwork accurately
- Following Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
- Working closely with your driving partner to complete deliveries efficiently
- Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
- A valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Desirable Experience: Previous trunking experience is advantageous but not essential.
Training: Full paid site induction provided, ongoing support throughout your assignment.
