Female Support Worker in Cwmbran

We are looking to recruit a patient, warm, caring and reliable Female Support Worker, ideally with a full driving licence for our delightful client with a physical and severe learning disability in the Cwmbran area.

In this role you will work with a 25-year-old lady with a physical and severe learning disability.

She lives with her parents in a property which has been adapted to meet her needs.

The client is physically independent but needs support with all areas of daily living, including self-care activities, household activities, vocational activities, leisure activities and socialising.

She attends a day service four days per week.

She enjoys socialising and listening to music.

The client has a friendly and cooperative personality but can become agitated on occasions when she is trying to communicate with others.

She uses facial expression, and some vocalisation to communicate.

Her mother is closely involved with her care.

Female applicants only due to the nature of personal care required.

Previous experience, full driving UK licence and own car are essential.

What you will be working:
44 hours over 2 weeks
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 5 pm 8pm
Thursday 3 pm 8pm
Alternate Saturdays 9.30am 7.30pm

What you will be doing:
To be aware of the problems that the client may have due to their physical and severe learning disability.

Attend relevant training days and sessions when the opportunity arises.

Attend staff meetings as requested.

To complete relevant documentation as instructed.

To use information technology such as email, intranet, electronic records etc.

To carry out domestic chores as appropriate.

Keep your own record of hours worked on the time sheet.

Provide feedback to the case manager and family on progress/problems.

To maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate.

To be aware of the house rules, policies and procedures.

To organise and manage own time according to delegated workload.

Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this role.

What you will have:
You must be registered with or working towards registration with Social Care Wales.

A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (QCF, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) is desirable.

Competent IT skills are desirable.

You will be expected to use information technology such as email, intranet, electronic records etc.

Training and support will be provided as necessary, and you are expected to maintain your IT skills in order for you to carry out your duties.

We are a CIW Registered healthcare business who help our clients recruit their own support workers.

You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on his behalf.
