We are recruiting for a Site General Manager to take leadership responsibility for a complex industrial operation in South Lanarkshire.
The business is deliberately looking beyond their traditional talent pool.
Your background could be in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, regulated manufacturing, FMCG, chemicals, engineering, electronics, food production or another high-compliance operational environment.
The organisation has access to strong technical expertise. What it now needs is an outstanding leader who can manage a difficult workforce, address long-standing behaviours, strengthen management capability and lead the site through a major period of transformation.
The Opportunity As Site General Manager, you will take responsibility for the people, culture, performance and operational direction of the site.
You will be expected to create stability and clarity while introducing the standards, structure and accountability required of a high-performing operation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading an established workforce through significant cultural and operational change
Building trust while setting clear and consistent expectations
Addressing resistance, underperformance and challenging behaviours
Strengthening accountability across the site
Developing managers into more confident and effective leaders
Improving communication between frontline teams, managers and senior leadership
Creating a stronger safety, compliance and performance culture
Improving productivity, reliability, efficiency and output
Delivering against operational, commercial and contractual KPIs
Introducing stronger governance, reporting and performance management
Working closely with the Board, senior stakeholders and the asset owner
Ensuring the site operates in line with all statutory and environmental requirements

Strong health, safety, quality or compliance leadership

A visible, authentic and resilient leadership style
