Job Role | Learning Support Assistant Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception pupil presenting with challenging behaviour.
Build a trusting relationship to help the child feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.
Use calming, distraction and de-escalation strategies during periods of dysregulation.
Encourage positive social interactions, communication and emotional regulation.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and parents to support the child's development.
What you need | Learning Support Assistant A 2:1 or First-Class degree from a leading UK university is desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
Calm, patient and resilient, with the confidence to remain positive in challenging situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Previous experience working with children, SEND or challenging behaviour is advantageous but not essential.
This is a role where no two days are the same.
