Your new role involves supply teaching, which can be a great way to start your career. Many of our ECTs use supply as a way to gain experience before securing a permanent role, while others are matched directly with schools looking to support teachers through their ECT induction. What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS before September
- Recent teaching experience gained through placements
- A passion for primary education
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A flexible and positive approach
- The ability to build relationships quickly with pupils and staff
- A genuine desire to learn and develop as a teacher
