Our client, a leading facilities management provider, is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team working within a busy industrial environment. The initial contract will run for 3 months, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.
The role will involve carrying out a combination of planned and reactive electrical maintenance, alongside general building maintenance across the site. This is an ideal opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer who enjoys a varied role and is confident working in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults.
- Complete electrical inspections, testing and remedial works.
- Maintain lighting, power supplies, distribution boards and associated electrical systems.
- Carry out general building maintenance and fabric repairs where required.
- Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Complete PPMs in line with the site maintenance schedule.
- Identify potential faults and maintenance requirements before they become issues.
- Work alongside other engineers and contractors on site.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed.
Requirements
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Engineer within a commercial, industrial or facilities management environment.
- Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance experience.
- Comfortable carrying out a mixture of electrical and general building maintenance.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
- A proactive approach with good communication skills.
