Role Summary:
They have been running for over 15 years producing exquisite and luxurious surface finishes. Their general line of work is free standing items of bespoke furniture such as console tables, drinks units, tables etc. As the company is expanding so are the joinery packages they are working on.
You must be skilled and experienced in cabinet making and/or joinery, with a strong eye for detail and a genuine passion for producing high-end, bespoke furniture. The successful candidate will take a lead role within the workshop, overseeing the production of bespoke furniture and ensuring work is completed to an exceptionally high standard. You will be confident working independently, while also supporting and guiding other members of the team.
Their work includes high-end, bespoke furniture and joinery packages, with projects ranging from free-standing furniture such as console tables, drinks units and tables through to more complex bespoke joinery.
With the company recently opening a showroom in NYC, there is significant opportunity for the right individual to develop their skills, take on greater responsibility and grow with the company.
About The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and experienced cabinet maker who takes pride in their work and has a strong understanding of traditional and modern cabinet-making techniques.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the manufacture of high-end bespoke furniture and joinery
- Work accurately and efficiently from CAD drawings and technical specifications
- Have a strong understanding of workshop machinery, tools, methods and manufacturing processes
- Have excellent attention to detail and maintain exceptionally high standards of quality and finish throughout each project
- Work independently and confidently manage your own workload
- Support, guide and work alongside other members of the workshop team
- Work closely alongside management to plan and prioritise workloads, helping to ensure project deadlines and delivery dates are met and to the required specification
- Have the ability to problem-solve and find practical solutions during the manufacturing process
- Be comfortable working on one-off, bespoke pieces where accuracy and craftsmanship are essential
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety practices, procedures and requirements, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop and work area
The Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years in bespoke cabinet making.
- Proven experience producing high-end or bespoke furniture
- Strong knowledge of cabinet-making techniques and manufacturing processes
- Competent reading and working from CAD drawings
- Confident using workshop machinery and hand tools
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, organised and driven
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe working practices
- A proven track record of success in a similar role
- Previous experience in a lead or senior cabinet-making position is preferred
- Driving licence preferable but not essential
