Pick & Pack Production Manager (Food)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Hours: Full-time, including regular weekend working
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing chilled food fulfilment business for an experienced Pick & Pack Production Manager to take ownership of its busy, high-volume packing operation.

This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for people, productivity, quality, food safety and dispatch performance, as well as improving processes as the operation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day chilled picking, packing and dispatch operation.

Plan labour, staffing and workflow around changing order volumes.

Lead and develop supervisors and operational teams.

Ensure orders are packed accurately, efficiently and on time.

Monitor productivity, labour efficiency, quality, waste and rework.

Identify bottlenecks and implement practical operational improvements.

Maintain stock control, traceability and temperature-control standards.

Develop SOPs, training and performance standards.

Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.

Work closely with senior management to resolve issues and support business growth.

About You
You'll need significant management experience within chilled food, food production, food fulfilment or a similar high-volume packing environment.

We are looking for someone who is:
A confident leader with experience managing a sizeable operational workforce.

Experienced in labour planning and performance management.

Strong on productivity, process improvement and operational discipline.

Knowledgeable about chilled food handling, traceability and temperature control.

Practical, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Willing and able to work weekends as a core part of the role.

Desirable: HACCP/BRCGS knowledge, food safety qualifications and experience developing or improving a packing/fulfilment operation.
