We are seeking a dedicated Security Manager to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of facility operations across Colchester Institute. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all staff members and learners.

About this role:
  • Lead, manage and develop the College's security teams to ensure the safety and security of staff, students, visitors, and assets at all times.
  • Ensure effective implementation and ongoing development of the College ID policy, promoting full compliance among all stakeholders.
  • Plan, develop, and implement security measures and emergency preparedness plans to minimise risk and respond effectively to incidents.
  • Manage car park operations including equipment maintenance, payment processes, and monitoring compliance for staff and students.
  • Provide specialist advice to management on security considerations relating to estates planning, car parking operations, and campus development.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners including Student Services, Safeguarding Officers, curriculum teams, and senior leaders, particularly in relation to safeguarding, wellbeing, and the Prevent Duty.
Essential Experience:
  • Management Experience in Security Management Role
  • Experience in Emergency planning
  • Safeguarding experience
Essential Qualifications:
  • SIA accredited or similar industry standard
  • Recent industry relevant training including: Conflict Resolution, Difficult Conversation Training, De-escalation tactics
