Your Role
As a Electrical Technical Support Engineer provide day-to-day technical support and electrical engineering oversight to the engineering maintenance teams across site operations. The role will act as the technical bridge between the Electrical Technicians / Craftspersons and the Site Electrical Engineer, supporting fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, reliability improvements, statutory compliance and continuous improvement activities across manufacturing and site infrastructure assets.
The role will support both reactive and planned maintenance activities whilst helping drive improvements in machine uptime, electrical reliability, safety compliance and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical electrical support to shift and day engineering teams.
Support fault finding and complex breakdown analysis on production and site equipment.
Assist the Engineering Planner with job scoping, technical planning and resource requirements.
Review recurring electrical failures and support root cause analysis investigations.
Assist in developing and improving PM schedules within AGILITY CMMS.
Support electrical reliability improvement initiatives and condition-based maintenance activities.
Provide technical oversight during maintenance activities and shutdowns.
Support contractor management and supervision for electrical works.
Assist in maintaining site electrical drawings, documentation and asset records.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures and safe systems of work.
Support statutory inspection remedial actions and electrical compliance activities.
Assist with commissioning and modification projects across site.
Support apprentices and less experienced team members with technical development and coaching.
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement throughout the department.
Provide electrical engineering support for site CAPEX, infrastructure and continuous improvement projects.
Assist with planning, coordination and execution of maintenance shutdown activities across production and utility areas.
Support project engineers and engineering management with electrical installation, modification and commissioning works.
Review electrical drawings, technical documentation, scopes of work and contractor RAMS associated with project activities.
Coordinate and supervise electrical contractors during shutdowns and project works to ensure compliance with site safety and engineering standards.
Assist with isolation planning and safe reinstatement of plant during maintenance shutdowns.
Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning and operational handover of new or modified equipment.
Provide technical support during machine upgrades, controls modifications and reliability improvement projects.

Preferred Skill & Experience
Experience in manufacturing environments involving automated machinery.
Experience leading technical problem solving activities.
Experience supporting engineering projects and installations.
Essential Skill & Experience
Industrial maintenance experience.
Experience supporting production-critical equipment.
Experience working within engineering safety systems.
Preferred Qualifications
CompEx or ATEX awareness.
NEBOSH qualification.
Essential Qualifications
Time-served electrical apprenticeship.
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
HND Electrical Engineering.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
PLC training/certification.
IOSH
