Purpose of Role
CNC Turners to work on fixed-head, Fanuc-controlled machines.
Looking for experienced setters and operators rather than programmers.
To set and operate CNC Doosan and Nakamura lathes with Fanuc controls, producing precision-engineered components safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC turning machines
Load tooling, set offsets, and prepare machines for production
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and other measuring equipment
Maintain machine performance and minimise downtime
Support continuous improvement and TPM activities
Work to production schedules and quality requirements
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven CNC turning experience
Fanuc control experience
Ability to set and operate CNC lathes independently
Strong drawing interpretation skills
Good inspection and measurement experience
Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
Desirable
Aerospace or precision engineering experience
Multi-axis CNC turning experience
Experience with Nakamura, Doosan, Puma, or similar machines
Knowledge of GD&T
