About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Machinist (Beam Saw Operator) to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong manufacturing or production background to work in a fast-paced environment producing high-quality components and materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a beam saw, accurately cutting sheet materials to specification, and supporting the wider production team to ensure daily targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate beam saw machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately cut sheet materials in accordance with production requirements.
  • Read and follow cutting lists, job specifications, and work instructions.
  • Handle, move, and position large sheets of wood and board materials.
  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping.
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience as a production operative or machinist within a manufacturing environment.
  • Be competent and relatively experienced in operating production machinery.
  • Have good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Be physically fit and capable of manually handling large sheet materials.
  • Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Previous experience operating a beam saw.
  • A background in joinery, woodworking, furniture manufacturing, or a related industry.
