An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controls Engineer to join an established engineering team, developing PLC and HMI control software for advanced engineering products.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting control solutions throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop PLC and HMI software in line with functional specifications
Design, test and validate control software solutions
Produce technical documentation and support release processes
Troubleshoot software issues and support manufacturing and service teams
Contribute to project planning, risk management and continuous improvement

Ideally, you will have:
HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline
Experience developing PLC and HMI software within an engineering environment
Knowledge of PLC programming including Ladder Logic, Structured Text and Function Blocks
Experience with HMI programming and technical documentation
Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams
Desirable experience:
Modbus TCP and EtherCAT communication protocols
PID control loops
Functional safety, HAZOP or FMEA techniques
Manufacturing, automation or industrial control experience
LocationBased in Clevedon, North Somerset, this is an on-site role working with experienced engineering teams on innovative control solutions. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
