JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Cleaners to work at a nuclear plant in Birchwood WA3.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out cleaning duties in offices, controlled areas, restrooms, plant facilities, and other designated zones.
- Ensure all work complies with site-specific nuclear safety protocols and procedures.
- Use approved cleaning agents and equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow radiation protection guidelines where applicable, including working in controlled or supervised areas.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and waste materials in accordance with site regulations.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report hazards, incidents, or unusual findings immediately to supervisors.
- Complete cleaning records and documentation as required for compliance purposes.
- Support contamination control measures by following decontamination procedures when necessary.
- Adhere to strict security requirements, including access control procedures.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and nuclear site safety rules.
- Participate in safety briefings, training, and drills.
- Understand and follow emergency procedures.
- Minimise risk of cross-contamination in sensitive areas.
- Use PPE including gloves, protective clothing, masks, and dosimeters (if required).
Skills and Experience:
- Essential: Previous cleaning experience in industrial, commercial, or high-security environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to follow strict procedures and instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable: Experience working in high-risk environments (e.g., nuclear, chemical, or pharmaceutical sites).
- Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
- Awareness of radiation safety practices.
- Security clearance (or willingness to undergo clearance).
Security Requirements:
- Must undergo background checks and security clearance.
- Compliance with all site security procedures is mandatory.
