Our business , based in Chorley is home to a fleet of over 1300 commercial vehicles providing nationwide coverage and offers a varied, constantly changing workload. It is a busy, exciting place to be and you can be sure that you will not ever be looking for something to do.
We are looking for 5 new people to join us as a Transport Operative / Driver.
- You MUST have a UK driving licence to apply.
Hours are 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities Include:
Inspect returned commercial vehicles and identify any damage, defects, missing equipment, or compliance issues.
Carry out vehicle valeting and cleaning to ensure vehicles meet company presentation standards.
Remove and apply customer-specific decals, signage, and livery as required.
Undertake minor repairs and rectification work, including basic bodywork, fittings, and trim repairs.
Ensure all regulatory and company compliance requirements are met before vehicles are released for hire.
Complete pre-hire inspections and quality checks.
Move vehicles between company sites, workshops, customer locations, and external suppliers.
Liaise with workshop, operations, and fleet teams to prioritise vehicle preparation activities.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Specific Skills:
A full UK or EU driving licence
A strong team player
An ability to work well under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to use initiative.
Good practical skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs and vehicle rectification work.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Understanding of vehicle compliance and roadworthiness requirements.
Experience working with commercial vehicles, fleet operations, vehicle preparation, or a similar environment would be preferred but would consider someone with the ultimate can-do attitude and the confidence to deliver a great service.
Pay is Weekly at Β£12.71 per hour
