An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK civil engineering contractor on a major long-term infrastructure scheme in the Cheshire area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a technically challenging project with a well-established commercial team, supporting the delivery of a nationally significant engineering programme.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of a major civils package from procurement through to final account. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administration
  • Preparing and agreeing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
  • Managing compensation events and change control under NEC contracts
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with the client, supply chain and project delivery teams
  • Supporting the commercial performance of the project throughout its lifecycle

About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructure
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial reporting
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently within a busy project environment
  • Experience within sectors such as ground engineering, industrial construction, energy, heavy civils or major infrastructure would be highly advantageous.
