We are currently recruiting for Head of Planning & Procurement on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Chichester. They are seeking a Head of Procurement & Planning to lead procurement strategy, supply chain operations, and inventory planning, ensuring the effective flow of materials and services throughout the business.
Job Overview
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, performance, and quality standards
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and implement contingency plans where appropriate
- Oversee forecasting, planning, and inventory levels in line with production requirements
- Work collaboratively with production, logistics, and finance teams
- Utilise the ERP system to manage procurement, inventory, and supplier performance
- Lead improvements to ERP processes and modules relating to procurement and supply chain
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement and planning team
- Manage the procurement budget and monitor relevant KPIs
- Contribute to senior leadership decision-making and wider company initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar senior leadership role within a manufacturing business
- Strong knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and inventory planning
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and using technology to optimise procurement and supply chain processes
- Excellent negotiation, communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and strategic decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and legal guidelines
Salary & Benefits
- £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
- Some flexibility around start and finish times
- Ideally office-based, with the option to work from home one day per week once settled into the role
