The Role

As a Private Client Solicitor, you'll become a trusted adviser to a broad range of clients, helping them navigate sensitive legal matters with confidence and reassurance. You'll manage your own varied caseload, providing tailored legal advice across a range of private client matters including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work. Working closely with colleagues across the department, you'll deliver an exceptional client experience from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring every client feels supported, informed and cared for throughout the process. The role offers an excellent balance of independent case management, client interaction and collaborative working within an experienced and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own varied Private Client caseload from instruction through to completion.
  • Advising clients on Wills, Probate and Estate Administration matters.
  • Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
  • Managing Court of Protection matters.
  • Delivering tailored legal advice that reflects each client's individual circumstances.
  • Meeting clients in person, by telephone and remotely.
  • Building long-term client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Explaining complex legal issues in a clear, practical and compassionate manner.
  • Drafting legal documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintaining excellent file management and case records.
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental targets and KPIs.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow the firm's reputation.
  • Developing relationships with professional contacts and referral partners where appropriate.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and client confidentiality.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Private Client Solicitor who combines strong technical ability with genuine compassion and excellent communication skills. You'll understand that many private client matters involve sensitive conversations and emotional decisions, and you'll be able to guide clients with patience, empathy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Solicitor
  • At least two years' post-qualification experience in Private Client law.
  • Experience handling a varied private client caseload independently.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Wills, Probate, LPAs and Court of Protection matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
