Class 2 Driver / Chelmsford / £40,000 - 45,000 Per Annum Depending on Experience + Benefits We are seeking a reliable, professional and customer-focused Class 2 Driver to join our transport team.
This is an important role within our distribution operation, responsible for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of educational products to customers throughout the UK.
As one of the company's ambassadors, you will provide outstanding customer service whilst ensuring full compliance with all transport legislation, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
This is a physically active role which includes regular handball deliveries to customers' premises.
You will take pride in providing a professional delivery service, helping to maintain the high customer service standards and expectations for which the company is recognised.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role offers a competitive salary of £40,000 - 45,000 per annum , participation in the company bonus scheme and the opportunity to join a well-established and growing family business.

Statutory pension and 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays Free onsite parking and company BBQs Key Responsibilities of the Class 2 Driver Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle in accordance with all road traffic legislation and company procedures.
Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and promptly report any defects.
Deliver and collect goods safely, accurately and on time across the UK.
Carry out regular handball deliveries to customers whilst maintaining excellent customer service at all times.
Load and unload vehicles safely where required, ensuring goods are handled with care.
Complete all delivery documentation and electronic records accurately using handheld devices.
Comply with Driver CPC requirements, Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation.
Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness, presentation and roadworthiness.
Build positive relationships with customers through a professional, courteous and helpful approach.
Support the wider transport team and contribute to maintaining excellent operational and customer service standards.
Skills, Experience & Essential Requirements Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
Driver CPC Qualification Card.
Digital Tachograph Card.
A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check is required due to regular deliveries to schools and educational establishments.
Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
Comfortable undertaking regular handball deliveries as part of the role.
Good understanding of transport legislation, Drivers' Hours and road safety requirements.
Experience using handheld delivery devices.
Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, professional and flexible approach with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
