Senior Mechanical Engineer
**Location:** Barrow-in-Furness
Role Overview
Provide mechanical engineering support to ensure the safe,reliable and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment across the Morecambe Hub.
### Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation,maintenance and integrity of rotating and static mechanical equipment.
- Optimise preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues,complete root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Support inspection,testing and condition-monitoring programmes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant API,ASME,ISO,DNV and company standards.
- Provide technical input into modifications and capital projects,including specifications,design reviews and commissioning.
- Review mechanical work scopes,job packs and method statements.
- Manage contractors and vendors,ensuring technical quality and safe delivery.
- Support shutdown,turnaround,commissioning and start-up activities.
- Participate in HAZOP,HAZID,LOPA and other risk-assessment activities.
- Maintain technical documentation,drawings,calculations and operating procedures.
- Lead or support incident investigations using Kelvin TopSet methodologies.
### Experience and Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering,ideally at MEng level.
- Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
- Proven experience within onshore or offshore oil and gas operations.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment,asset integrity,reliability engineering,materials and corrosion.
- Understanding of offshore safety cases and permit-to-work systems.
