Mechanical Engineer 7 Steel UK Cardiff Up to £50,000, plus £2,550 Call Out & 5% Bonus Joining our Melt Shop team as a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working on some of the largest pieces of kit youll find in the industry.
Some of your key responsibilities will include: Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage mechanical activities (i. e. planned maintenance programs, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimize break-downs and malfunctions Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and being followed Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure the effective running of the process Working within the wider Engineering Team, youll be leading and managing projects as well as a team of Mechanical Technicians.
Analysis, design and planning is a key part of your role, but you will also enjoy being down on the plant and getting stuck in.
You will be an experienced and skilled Mechanical Engineer, who is passionate about manufacturing, continuous learning, and team development.
Ideally your background will be in a heavy industry environment, but most importantly, hands on, practical engineering will excite you.
