About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with transport scheduling experience to support commercial growth and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for supporting bids and tenders, timetable development, vehicle and driver scheduling, while working closely with Operations, Engineering, Commercial and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate commercial tenders and bid opportunities
- Develop compliant and cost-effective timetables and scheduling solutions
- Produce vehicle workings, driver duties and rotas
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and resource utilisation
- Produce scheduling and costing information for tender submissions
- Monitor operational performance and key KPIs
- Manage Local Authority contract relationships
- Ensure project deadlines and key milestones are achieved
- Maintain scheduling information across Ticketer, BusHub and DAS
- Manage TransXChange files and Local Authority compliance requirements
Requirements
- Strong experience in transport scheduling
- Experience with timetable development, vehicle scheduling and driver scheduling
- Experience contributing to commercial bids and tenders
- Experience using scheduling software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret operational data
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- Confident working with internal and external stakeholders
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £55,000 per annum
- 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Annual leave increasing to 30 days plus Bank Holidays after 5 years' service
- Access to a salary sacrifice EV car scheme after successful completion of the 6-month probationary period
- Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Cardiff
