Hours: 0 hours contract/casual worker/adhoc basis

Shift Pattern: 08:00 - 16:30, 07:00 - 14:30, 16:30 - 00:00, 14:00 - 22:30 and 22:00 - 08:00

Rates of pay: £15.24 per hour for day shifts, and £16.72 per hour for night shifts

The Role

Gonville & Caius College is looking for College Relief Porters to join its friendly team of Porters, who collectively are responsible for the security and safety of the College buildings and its occupants throughout the 24-hour day. Critically, Porters are the principal interface with Fellows, staff, students, conference delegates and visitors to the College and assume a key front-of-house role. The duties of the role are principally based at either the Old Courts in the centre of Cambridge, or Harvey Court on West Road but may be undertaken across any of the Colleges' sites within Cambridge.

The post is on an ad hoc basis to cover sickness and holidays on day, evening and night shifts. There is the opportunity to request particular shifts but must be available at short notice as and when required, and therefore the ability and willingness to adopt a flexible approach to working hours is expected.

A uniform and a meal/meal allowance are provided whilst on duty.
