Pure Staff are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Night Drivers to work with one of our valued clients based in Newport .

The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Night Driver , you will be completing a mixture of trunk runs and pallet collections using modern Class 1 vehicles.
All loads are forklift-loaded and unloaded, meaning there is no handball involved .
Drivers will simply be required to open and close the vehicle curtains where necessary.
Night shifts typically start between 17:00 and 19:00 , with average shift lengths of 10 to 12 hours .
This is an ongoing opportunity with immediate starts available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete trunking runs and pallet collection work safely and efficiently.
- Operate Class 1 vehicles in line with all transport legislation and company procedures.
- Open and close vehicle curtains as required for loading and unloading.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure all delivery and collection paperwork is completed accurately.
- Adhere to Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations at all times.
- Maintain a professional manner when dealing with customers and transport teams.
- Wear the correct PPE whilst working, including safety boots and hi-vis clothing.
- Successfully complete a driving assessment prior to starting work.
- To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need
- UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum 6 month's Class 1 experience preferred, although newly qualified drivers will be considered.
- No more than 6 penalty points with no TT, TS, MS, DR, or DD endorsements.
- A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude.
- Pay Rates
- Monday to Friday Nights - £17.50 per hour plus £2.11 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £19.61 per hour including holiday pay ).
- Saturday Nights - £20.00 per hour plus £2.41 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £22.41 per hour including holiday pay ).
- Sunday Nights - £22.00 per hour plus £2.65 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £24.65 per hour including holiday pay ).
