We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie to join our friendly kitchen team at a care home in Burgess Hill. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious and appetising meals and enjoys making a real difference to residents' daily lives.
The Role
As Chef de Partie, you will work alongside the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals for our residents, ensuring that food is prepared, cooked and presented to a consistently high standard. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals to a high standard.
- Following menus and recipes while catering for individual dietary requirements.
- Supporting the Head Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards.
- Ensuring food is stored and prepared safely in line with current regulations.
- Supporting with stock control and minimising food waste.
- Working as part of a friendly and supportive team.
- Helping to create a warm and enjoyable mealtime experience for residents.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role.
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and quality food.
- Understands the importance of dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
- Has excellent food hygiene standards.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
- Is caring, patient and respectful towards residents.
- Works well as part of a team and has a positive attitude.
Care home experience is desirable but not essential, as full support will be provided to the right candidate.
