Building Surveyor Basic £35-45,000pa Car or Car Allowance We\’re working with a well-established consultancy seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with real scope — you\’ll be involved in everything from surveys and design through to project coordination, contract administration and stakeholder management. You\’ll take ownership of detailed building inspections across residential, commercial and industrial properties, identifying defects, structural issues, and compliance risks. Your reports and recommendations will drive decision-making and shape project outcomes. Regulatory understanding is key — you\’ll be advising clients on planning permissions, building regs, health and safety standards, and more. From feasibility studies and technical design to site assessments and budget planning, you\’ll be trusted to bring together technical accuracy and commercial pragmatism. Working closely with contractors, engineers and other professionals, you\’ll help coordinate works, keep projects on track, and ensure quality, compliance and value throughout. You\’ll also play a critical role in managing tenders, contracts and procurement processes. That means evaluating proposals, selecting contractors, monitoring performance and ensuring everything is delivered to a high standard and within budget. Your eye for quality control and risk mitigation will be put to good use, especially during site inspections and project reviews. Strong communication is essential.
