People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Aston, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Rates of Pay:
- Days (06:00 - 18:00) - £17.50 per hour
- Nights (18:00 - 06:00) - £18.50 per hour
- Saturday - £20.00 per hour
- Sunday - £21.50 per hour
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Sunday, 5 days out of 7

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Completing refrigerated deliveries with a maximum of three store deliveries per shift
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
- Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required
- Completing deliveries with no handball involved
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category C+E Licence
- A minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category C+E vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
- A valid Driver CPC Card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
Industry-related training provided, ongoing support throughout your assignment.
