Blaymires Recruitment is representing a successful multidisciplinary design and property consultancy based in Bromley who is looking to appoint an Associate Building Surveyor. This is an interesting and varied role within an established Building Surveying team, working on a range of education, civic and public sector housing projects from inception through to completion.

The position would suit an existing Associate Building Surveyor or an experienced Senior Building Surveyor who is ready to step into an Associate-level role within a collaborative, technically strong consultancy environment.

You will be involved in delivering a full range of professional building surveying services, managing technical work, supporting client relationships and helping deliver practical, high-quality solutions across public sector and education projects.

The Role

  • Managing technical work and projects under the direction of a Partner or Senior Manager.
  • Delivering a full range of professional building surveying services.
  • Leading on technical matters for projects within your control.
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors and other professional consultants.
  • Working closely with in-house disciplines across the wider consultancy.
  • Programming your own workload and resources to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • Supporting project profitability, cash flow forecasting and fee management.
  • Managing small technical teams where appropriate.
  • Building long-term client relationships through excellent service delivery.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced Building Surveyor with strong traditional surveying skills and the confidence to manage technical work, clients and project delivery. You will ideally have:

  • Chartered Surveyor status or membership of the Institute of Building.
  • Proven building surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience working on public sector housing, education or similar projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge and up-to-date contract knowledge.
  • Good communication, presentation and client-facing skills.
  • The ability to work well within a team and lead on specific projects.
  • A self-motivated, confident and commercially aware approach.
  • Ambition to progress within a successful and growing business.
