A well-established residential care home in Brixham is looking for a Registered Manager to take the reins of a home with a strong local reputation, steady staffing, and high occupancy. This isn't a home that needs fixing. It needs someone who can build on solid foundations, bring confident leadership, and keep raising the bar on care.

About the home

The organisation behind this home operates on three principles: compassion, respect, and integrity. Not slogans on a wall, but how they actually run things day to day. Managers here aren't left to handle everything alone. HR, payroll, recruitment, and finance are managed centrally, so your time goes where it should: with your team and your residents. Their consistent approach to care means you're stepping into clear standards and a trusted structure from day one.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading a long-standing staff team already delivering good, person-centred care
  • Working closely with an established Deputy Manager to strengthen leadership across the home
  • Reviewing day-to-day practices and refreshing routines where standards can be sharpened
  • Keeping the home fully compliant with CQC regulations and internal quality frameworks
  • Making good use of existing systems and policies rather than reinventing them
  • Being a clear, consistent point of contact for staff, residents, families, and external professionals

What you'll bring:

  • Solid experience as a Registered Manager in residential care
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
  • Eligibility to register with CQC as the home's Registered Manager
  • The ability to earn trust quickly, coach a team, and run daily operations with confidence
  • Comfort with electronic care planning systems and general IT
  • A steady hand with audits, care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding compliance
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship isn't available for this role)

We'd also love to hear from Deputy Managers who are ready to take the step up into their first Registered Manager role, with the right support in place to help you succeed.

What's on offer:

  • £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, plus up to £6,000 annual performance bonus
  • A thorough induction to set you up properly from day one
  • Centralised HR, payroll, and recruitment support, so you're not doing it all yourself
  • A home with strong foundations and genuine room to make it your own
  • 28 days annual leave pro rata, company pension, and free on-site parking

To apply:

Get in touch with Michaela at Kata Care 07718172925 for a confidential chat about the role, or apply directly. We're also working on other Registered Manager roles across the South East, so if this isn't quite right but you're open to a conversation, reach out anyway.

Enhanced DBS and two professional references will be required, and you'll need to be within a reasonable commute of Brixham TQ5.

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Free parking
  • Sick pay

Ability to commute/relocate: Brixham, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience: Management: 1 year (required)

Language: English (required)

Work authorisation: United Kingdom (required)

Work Location: In person
