Working alongside experienced Technical Project Managers, engineers and customers, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering background who is looking to develop a career in project, programme or portfolio management, or for an early-career project professional seeking broader exposure in a cutting-edge R&D environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the delivery of projects across the full lifecycle from initiation and planning through to execution and closure
  • Develop and maintain project plans for both live and pipeline work
  • Produce accurate and timely project reporting and management information
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure projects meet time, cost and quality objectives
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and changes while ensuring appropriate governance processes are followed
  • Support project reviews and maintain clear project documentation
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Contribute to technical discussions and meetings, supporting solution development in line with your experience
  • Ensure projects align with NCC quality and health & safety standards and promote a positive culture

What we're looking for

We're interested in people who bring a combination of technical understanding, curiosity, and a desire to grow in project management. You'll likely have:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment.
  • An interest in developing a career in project management.
  • An understanding of project management principles, tools or methods (formal or informal).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience contributing to engineering projects within a matrix or collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced materials or composite engineering processes.
  • Previous exposure to project coordination or project delivery.

Why NCC?

We'll give you hands-on experience delivering a diverse portfolio of engineering projects. The opportunity to develop project, programme and portfolio management skills. Exposure to a wide range of sectors and technologies. Support and mentoring from experienced project professionals. A clear pathway to develop your career in project management.
