Join ISE on a High-Profile Defence Programme. Infinity Systems Engineering (ISE) is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Engineer to support a major UK defence land systems programme. This role offers the opportunity to influence the safety assurance of operational military capability, working directly with MOD stakeholders, senior military personnel, equipment suppliers and engineering teams.

You will be involved in safety management, hazard analysis, safety case development, design reviews, configuration change management, equipment trials and safety governance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable safety professional looking to work on complex, high-consequence systems that directly support UK defence capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support system safety activities across military equipment programmes.
  • Review and develop Safety Cases, Hazard Logs and safety assurance documentation.
  • Chair Hazard Log Working Groups and safety governance meetings.
  • Support safety management planning and project initiation activities.
  • Review contractor safety submissions and safety assurance evidence.
  • Participate in design reviews and equipment trials.
  • Support configuration change processes and safety approvals.
  • Provide safety advice to senior MOD and project stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Significant experience in system safety engineering within a highly regulated industry such as defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear or automotive.
  • Demonstrable experience developing, reviewing and maintaining Safety Cases and Hazard Logs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.
  • Experience leading technical safety meetings and working groups.
  • Familiarity with safety assurance throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Ability to work independently within a customer-facing environment.
Desirable Experience
  • Defence acquisition or military equipment experience.
  • Knowledge of Def Stan 00-056 and MOD safety assurance processes.
  • Experience supporting safety governance and design assurance activities.
  • Land systems, military vehicle or platform integration experience.
Security & Travel Requirements

Current UK Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory. Candidates without an active SC clearance will not be considered. The role offers hybrid working; however, regular attendance at Abbey Wood (typically 2-3 days per week) is expected, together with occasional travel to supplier facilities in the Midlands. Applicants should be comfortable working closely with customer teams on MOD sites.
