We're supporting a specialist communications and stakeholder engagement consultancy with a new hire into their Bristol team. They work across planning, regeneration and the wider built environment, helping clients shape the conversation around development through clear messaging, stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

The role involves managing a portfolio of projects where communications and stakeholder engagement sit at the centre of the planning process, ensuring that development projects have a positive impact on the communities they affect.

You will:

  • Manage and grow relationships with planning consultancies, developers, housing providers and wider built environment clients
  • Lead communications-led engagement programmes supporting planning applications, consultations and development proposals
  • Shape key messages, narratives and supporting materials for internal and external audiences
  • Coordinate stakeholder activity including events, workshops, exhibitions, surveys and digital engagement
  • Oversee the creation of consultation materials, briefings, reports, presentations and other campaign assets
  • Manage timelines, budgets and internal resources to keep multi-party projects moving
  • Support pitches and proposals for new planning, regeneration and engagement work
  • Help coach and support junior colleagues across live accounts and campaigns

We're keen to speak with candidates who:

  • Come from a communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, PR or built environment agency background
  • Understand the role of communication in planning and development - from shaping messages to building support and managing objections
  • Are comfortable working with planning consultants, developers, local stakeholders and community audiences
  • Have strong project management skills and can juggle multiple live schemes and deadlines
  • Are confident writing, editing and reviewing materials for different audiences and channels
  • Are commercially aware and comfortable working to budgets and contributing to account growth
  • Have a genuine interest in planning, regeneration, place-making and the communities affected by development

Package and set-up:

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

Location: Bristol office, with hybrid working available
