On behalf of our client, we are seeking a PA to the Head (this is a term time only role). This is a proactive personal assistant role supporting the Head of the school and reporting directly to the Head. The role is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Heads Office, including diary management, communications, and a wide range of administrative tasks. The position requires initiative, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and provide reliable support across a broad range of responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Follow the Heads direction and proactively ensure the smooth operation of the Heads Office and diary.
- Uphold the schools high standards, values, and vision in all office matters.
- Assist the Head with short-term and long-term organisational tasks.
- Confidentially handle sensitive personal matters involving staff, students, and the wider community.
- Develop strong relationships with parents, governors, pupils, and staff, acting as an ambassador for the school.
- Organise and maintain the Heads diary and inbox, ensuring timely communication.
- Manage information gathering, documentation, and reporting for Governors.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining secure filing systems.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and end-of-term school gatherings, preparing notes and materials.
- Arrange travel, accommodation, and logistics for the Heads trips, excluding admissions and marketing.
- Collate and file complaints, incidents, and sanctions, supporting the Heads reporting to Governors.
- Provide additional support to the Senior Leadership Team and cover the reception desk when required.
The Person:
Our client is looking for a highly self-motivated experienced PA, exceptionally organised individual who thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment. You will be professional, approachable, and confident working with people at all levels. A strong sense of discretion, sound judgement, and a methodical approach are essential.
Experience required:
- Providing high-level administrative support to senior leadership teams.
- Dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
- Working in a customer-facing role.
- Working in a school or educational environment would be ideal but not essential.
Skills required:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise competing deadlines.
- Ability to problem solve and investigate queries.
- High level of attention to detail and a methodical and conscientious approach to work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ISAMS.
- High level of integrity and discretion.
The Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with 30 minutes lunch. This is a term time only role but does require 3 weeks to be worked during the school holiday period (timings to be agreed with the Head).

Westbury on Trym (Bristol) with car parking 100% office based.
