Do you want to apply your expertise within the Defence sector with a reputable client based in Bristol? If so, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. About the Role We are working with a leading Defence company on a contract basis, seeking an OME Engineer with Security Clearance (SC). This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, based primarily in Bristol, with the flexibility to work remotely 1 to 2 days per week. The position is available ASAP and is initially scoped until 31st March 2027, with potential for extension.
Your Responsibilities Provide proportionate Weapons and OME safety, environmental, and engineering assurance to the Director of Logistics & Procurement (L&P), acting as the ESR for all munitions across DE&S and other Government Departments.
Manage JSP 815/816 submissions, assessments, and ongoing maintenance.
Lead SEMS management activities, including audit planning and review, maintaining dashboards, and preparing quarterly SHEC reporting.
Maintain and submit waiver documentation for Acquisition Safety Delegation (ASD) and support related administration.
Contribute to policy management, compliance tracking, development of assurance sprints, and support of DEFSTAN AMC reviews.
Engage in ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with OME legislation and wider engineering assurance activities, including audits and legislative registers.
Essential Experience Experience with DE&S engineering policy and assurance processes.
Strong background working with OME DOSR and DSA regulations.
Proven track record within DE&S Safety and Environmental Management System frameworks.
Desirable Skills Experience with PowerBI for metrics dashboards and reporting.
Knowledge of DE&S assurance processes and related standards.
