Working Hours: 6am - 3pm - Monday to Friday

Salary: £34,784 per annum + overtime at time/half

Premier Paper Group are the UK's largest independent paper merchant and we are looking to recruit a proactive and reliable Driver Team Leader to support the day-to-day operation of our transport team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver who is ready to take on a supervisory role while remaining hands-on within the operation.

As the Driver Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring our drivers are organised, supported, and ready to deliver excellent service each day. You will act as the first point of contact for operational issues each morning and work closely with management to keep the fleet running efficiently.

  • Supervise and support the daily activities of the driving team.
  • Conduct morning driver briefings and ensure all routes are adequately covered.
  • Resolve operational issues, including vehicle, staffing, and route queries.
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies to arrange additional driver cover when required.
  • Once all drivers are on their way, complete the shortest route and/or make same day deliveries, undertaking vehicle checks ahead of leaving the branch.
  • Provide efficient multidrop deliveries within your designated route, assisting customers receiving goods when required, and be the customer facing representative of the company.
  • Pass back any feedback from customers regarding possible discrepancies and/or future business opportunities.

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Category C driving licence with Digi card and CPC (including ongoing training).
  • Previous HGV multidrop delivery experience.
  • Experience of using vehicle tail lifts.
  • Ability to work flexibly with varying routes.
  • Knowledge of using PDA would be considered advantageous.
  • Ability to undertake the physical manual nature of the role.
