Are you an experienced NDT Level 3 professional looking to take the next step into senior leadership? We're supporting a leading aerospace engineering business in the search for a Head of Inspection (NDT) & Maintenance Manager to lead inspection operations, oversee Part 145 maintenance activities, and drive the growth of a highly respected inspection services function. This opportunity would suit someone stepping into their first or second Head of Inspection role, offering the chance to influence strategy, manage a skilled team, and work directly with senior leadership while remaining technically connected to NDT operations.
As Head of Inspection, you'll take ownership of the delivery of all inspection activities, ensuring customer commitments, regulatory obligations and quality standards are consistently achieved. You'll lead a team of NDT professionals, support certification and compliance activities, work closely with customers across the aerospace sector, and act as a technical authority within the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining operational management, technical oversight, customer engagement and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead all NDT inspection service delivery activities
- Manage team workload, resource planning, leave management and utilisation
- Support personnel competency, training and continuation training programmes
- Undertake and support EN4179 inspection activities
- Perform Responsible Level 3 duties in at least one NDT method
- Support internal, external and customer audits including Nadcap and Part 145 requirements
- Oversee Part 145 maintenance management responsibilities
- Work closely with Quality, Compliance and Health & Safety teams
- Support commercial activity through quotation review, scope definition and costing exercises
- Provide technical support to customers both on-site and remotely
- Contribute to business growth initiatives and industry events
- EN4179/NAS410 Level 2 or Level 3 certification in one or more NDT methods
- Strong aerospace inspection experience across manufacturing and/or in-service environments
- Experience inspecting metallic and composite structures
- Existing leadership, supervisory or team coordination experience
- Good understanding of aerospace quality and regulatory environments
- Ability to make sound technical and operational decisions
- Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT)
