We are seeking an AI Governance Lead to join a leading global consulting and technology organisation helping clients harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence safely, responsibly and at scale. Working across a broad range of sectors, you'll partner with organisations to navigate the opportunities and risks associated with AI, helping them develop robust governance frameworks, policies and operating models. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across business, legal, compliance, risk, technology, security, data and engineering teams to deliver practical solutions that enable innovation while meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities as an AI Governance Lead:
- Support clients in designing, implementing and operationalising AI governance frameworks.
- Develop AI governance policies, controls, operating models and reporting frameworks.
- Advise clients on emerging AI regulations, standards and guidance, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 23894.
- Conduct AI risk assessments, model governance reviews, algorithmic impact assessments and responsible AI evaluations.
- Support AI lifecycle governance across model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, explainability, transparency, accountability and human oversight.
- Advise organisations on the governance implications of Generative AI, including data usage, intellectual property, security, privacy, bias and model risk.
- Facilitate workshops, governance forums and risk assessments with senior client stakeholders.
- Develop tailored AI governance approaches based on client business models, strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including AI specialists, data scientists, engineers, cyber security experts, risk professionals and regulatory specialists.
Experience you'll need as an AI Governance Lead:
- Proven consulting experience delivering projects focused on AI governance, responsible AI, AI risk management, model governance or emerging technology regulation.
- Strong experience developing AI governance frameworks, policies, controls and operating models.
- Practical knowledge of AI-related regulations, standards and guidance, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, ISO/IEC 23894 and OECD AI Principles.
- Experience conducting AI risk assessments, model governance reviews, algorithmic impact assessments or responsible AI evaluations.
- Understanding of AI lifecycle governance and the associated risks around development, deployment, monitoring, explainability and human oversight.
- Experience working with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and an understanding of associated governance considerations.
- Must be eligible for security clearance.
Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Experience implementing governance tooling, AI inventory solutions, model risk management platforms or GRC technologies.
- Background in data governance, privacy, cyber security, model risk management or technology risk.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO 42001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, IAPP AIGP, CRISC, CISM, CISSP or AWS/Azure AI certifications.
- Experience defining AI governance committees, policies, standards, controls and reporting frameworks.
- Experience supporting AI governance programmes within highly regulated organisations.
