Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Engineering Operative to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business in Bridgwater, Somerset, working on a prestigious Formula One (F1) contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, or Engineering Production Operative looking to develop their career within an advanced engineering and manufacturing environment.

Working as part of a skilled production team, you will operate a range of manufacturing machinery, prepare materials, complete moulding and finishing processes, and carry out dimensional and visual inspections to ensure components meet the required quality standards.

What We Offer

  • £27,000-£27,500 per annum.
  • Two annual bonus payments.
  • Monday to Thursday, 8am-4:30pm.
  • Early finish at 1pm on Fridays.

Key Duties

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of completed work.
  • Operate production machinery, including Barwell preform cutters and manual lathes.
  • Prepare materials including metals and PTFE through masking, shot blasting and degreasing.
  • Mix and apply bonding agents and RTV silicone, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Set up and operate moulding presses, including compression and transfer moulding equipment.
  • Complete finishing activities including trimming, sealing and component assembly.
  • Handle small components with accuracy and precision.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production paperwork.
  • Follow Health and Safety and Quality procedures throughout all manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and prevent foreign object defects during production.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience using a range of production machines, tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small components with precision.
  • Understanding of foreign object defects and their prevention.
  • Ability to complete and maintain accurate paperwork.
  • Previous experience within a rubber manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
