Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and fabricated equipment for sectors including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Water Treatment and Heavy Industry. Due to continued expansion they're looking for a skilled Plater / Fabricator to join their production team in Pencoed and help deliver high-quality engineered products to customers around the world.

The Role

  • Cutting, grinding and laying out sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel and angle
  • Performing MIG and MMA tack welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
  • Assembling and fabricating high-quality finished products
  • Marking out cylinders, nozzle locations and weld preparations
  • Using plasma and gas cutting equipment safely and effectively
  • Preparing pipework, flanges and structural components for welding
  • Following strict health and safety procedures and PPE requirements

About You

  • Previous experience as a Plater, Fabricator or Metal Fabricator
  • Confident reading fabrication drawings and working accurately to dimensions
  • Experience using workshop equipment such as saws, drills, rotators, manipulators and cranes
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels, pipework or structural steelwork is advantageous
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
  • Strong understanding of workshop safety standards and safe working practices
  • Forklift training is beneficial but not essential
